Description
Los Haitises National Park is a true paradise for nature and history lovers. This unique park features a karst landscape with limestone hills and rock formations called mogotes, which were formed 50 million years ago.
The park is famous for having the largest population of mangroves in the Caribbean and numerous caves with petroglyphs and paintings of the Taíno people. The name 'Los Haitises' in the Taíno language means 'high lands' or 'mountain range'.
Take a canoe trip through the mangroves or a boat trip to the caves with a guide who will tell you about the rich history and nature of the place.
