Description

Kongelundsskoven is a historic forest dating back to the 19th century, where 800,000 trees, mostly oaks, were planted.

This unique place is home to 300 species of birds, including pheasants, which bred here until 1929. As an added attraction, planes from the nearby Copenhagen airport fly over the forest, creating a unique atmosphere for birdwatchers and spotters.

The forest offers excellent paths for biking, walking and horseback riding. You'll also find an observation tower overlooking the southern end of Amager and Kongelund Fortress with a panoramic view of Køge Bay.
