The Ship Burial Mound

The Ship Burial Mound is a unique archaeological site in Kerteminde, where Denmark's only Viking boat burial from around 925 was discovered.

In the reconstructed barrow, you can see the original Viking ship that served as a burial chamber for the king. Among the more than 600 artifacts found are silver buckles, weapons and the remains of 11 horses and several dogs sacrificed.

The museum also offers a full-size replica of a Ladba boat, interactive exhibitions and the opportunity to try on Viking costumes - an ideal attraction for history buffs and families with children.
