Description
St. Hubert's Chapel is a remarkable neo-Gothic structure located in the picturesque Boří forest near Valtice, Czech Republic. Built in 1855, it is the youngest structure in the UNESCO-listed Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape area.
The triangular structure with Gothic arches and a ribbed vault hides a statue of St. Hubert, the patron saint of hunters, surrounded by figures of angels. An interesting feature is the fictitious stonework marks on the sandstone blocks, added to give the chapel the appearance of antiquity.
It is an ideal place for lovers of architecture, history and quiet, contemplative spaces surrounded by nature.
