Description
Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery is a unique religious site located in the picturesque Troodos Mountains of Cyprus. Founded in 1152 by the monk Ignatius, it is dedicated to Our Lady of the Golden Pomegranate.
The current building dates from 1770 and combines historical and architectural significance. The monastery has a museum with a collection of holy books and icons, which adds to its cultural and religious value.
An interesting feature is the monastery's own vineyard and winery, reopened in the 1980s, which produces wines from local grapes, combining historical heritage with modern operations.
