Avacas Winery

Avacas Winery is a unique place with a rich history dating back to the 8th century, documented in Byzantine and Roman texts. It has been commercially operating since 1988 and in its current location since 2009.

The vineyard has 8 hectares under cultivation, mainly of native Cypriot varieties Maratheftiko and Ophtalmo. Each stage of the grape growing process is carefully monitored to ensure that only the best fruit makes it to the crushing plant.

A unique attraction is the fascinating wine museum showcasing the rich history of winemaking in Cyprus and the natural caves that were used thousands of years ago to store wine in ideal conditions.
