Description
The Limassol Castle is a fascinating medieval fortress in the heart of the historic center of Limassol, Cyprus. Built in the 12th century by Guy de Lusignan, it witnessed the island's turbulent history.
The castle has survived numerous invasions, earthquakes and reconstructions, and today houses the Medieval Museum with an impressive collection of Cypriot artifacts.
During the tour, you can discover the former prison cells used until 1950 and the remains of the early Christian basilica on which the castle was built. This is the perfect place for history and architecture lovers.
