Flamingo observatory spot

Flamingo observatory spot is a unique place on Larnaca's Salt Lake where you can view thousands of flamingos during their winter migration (November to March).

The observatory platform offers an amazing view of the lake, where these elegant birds wade in the shallow water. Particularly magical is the time just before sunset, when the flamingos are more active and the soft light enhances the beauty of the scenery.

It's also home to some 190 species of birds, including swallows, herons and hawks. Interesting fact: this is the only known place where a black flamingo has been observed!
