Cueva del Viento

Cueva del Viento is the longest volcanic tunnel in Europe and the fifth longest in the world, stretching 18.5 kilometers.

Formed some 27,000 years ago by lava flows from the Pico Viejo volcano, the cave impresses with unique geological formations such as lava drops, cascades and terraces.

It's also home to unusual species, such as the subterranean eyeless cockroach, and a site of archaeological discoveries related to the Guanche culture. Two-hour guided tours (available in Spanish, English and German) allow you to discover this fascinating underground world.
