Description
St. Nicholas Fortress is an impressive defensive fortification located at the entrance to the St. Anthony Canal in Sibenik. This 16th century triangular-shaped structure is an excellent example of Renaissance defensive architecture.
The fortress was built to protect the city from Turkish incursions from the sea. Today it impresses with its monumental structure and unique architectural details.
