Description

The Citadelle La Ferrière is a monumental fortress dating back to the early 19th century, the largest fortress in the Americas and a symbol of Haitian independence. Built by King Henri Christophe at an altitude of 970 meters above sea level, it impresses with massive walls up to 12 meters thick and more than 150 cannons.

It is a place full of history and national pride, and is a UNESCO-listed site. Its peaks offer breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sea.
