Description
Swansea Jack Monument is a unique memorial to the heroic black retriever who saved 27 people and 2 dogs from drowning between 1931 and 1937.
This remarkable dog was awarded the title of Most Courageous Dog of the Year by London's Star newspaper and two bronze medals from the National Canine Defence League.
The memorial, located near St. Helen's rugby stadium, includes a touching inscription: 'Never has humanity had a more faithful friend than you, who often risked your life to save a human soul from death.' It's a fascinating piece of local history and culture to discover when visiting Swansea.
