Description
St. Andrew's Cathedral in Inverness is an impressive example of English Neo-Gothic architecture, built between 1866 and 1869 to a design by Alexander Ross.
It is distinguished by its red Tarradale stone and Peterhead granite columns. It has the world's northernmost church set of change-ringing bells, the largest of which weighs 17 cetnars.
It is not only the seat of the Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness, but also a lively community of worshippers. The cathedral impresses with a liturgical façade with a main nave, side aisles and a small transept.
