Chapel of St. John (Ioannis)

St. John's Chapel (Ioannis) is a small Orthodox church built on top of a dramatic cliff, 100 meters above the Aegean Sea. Legend has it that a fisherman found an icon of St. John the Baptist here after a mysterious dream.

About 200 steep steps carved into the rock lead to the chapel - the climb is challenging, but the reward is breathtaking panoramic views. The place gained fame as the setting for a wedding scene in the movie 'Mamma Mia'.
