Description
The Glagolitic Avenue is a unique cultural monument stretching 7 kilometers between the villages of Roč and Hum in Croatian Istria.
This remarkable route commemorates the historic Croatian tradition of Glagolitic script, one of the oldest Slavic alphabets.
Eleven monumental sculptures have been placed along the avenue, including the Pillar of the Chakavian Parliament, the Table of Cyril and Methodius and the Congregation of Clement of Ohrid. Each piece tells a fascinating story of the development of Slavic culture and Croatian identity.
