Chengdu Sports Centre is an impressive sports facility whose architecture is inspired by the bamboo forests of Chengdu. The stadium is distinguished by an unusual roof decorated with the motif of the 'Golden Sunbird' - an ancient artifact discovered in 2001.
The facility can accommodate 40,000 spectators in stands equipped with folding plastic seats in white and blue. The stadium hosted the group matches of the 2007 Asian Games and many other international sporting events.
