Description
Qingyang Palace (West Gate) is a unique Taoist temple dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The complex impresses with its traditional Chinese architecture with ornate halls, tranquil courtyards and six main buildings arranged along a single axis.
The temple is dedicated to various deities, including the Jade Emperor and the goddess Doumu, reflecting the complex Taoist cosmology. Tile roofs, pillars decorated with animal carvings and symbols of the eternal Yin-Yang duality create an unusual atmosphere.
After the tour, visitors can relax in the tea garden and enjoy vegetarian dishes.
