昭觉寺

昭觉寺 (Zhaojue Temple) is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Chengdu, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). After much destruction and reconstruction, the current structure was completed in 1984.

The temple belongs to the Linji school, which emphasizes the direct transmission of the Buddha's teachings. The temple complex impresses with its traditional Chinese architecture with numerous pavilions and halls, including the Tianwang Hall and the Hall of the Three Saints.
