Young Mao Zedong statue

Young Mao Zedong statue is a monumental statue located on Orange Island in Changsha. This impressive 32-meter high sculpture made of 8,000 granite blocks depicts young Mao in a heroic pose, with his hair flowing, looking confidently into the future.

The dimensions of the monument have symbolic significance: 83 meters in length represents Mao's age at the time of his death, 41 meters in width symbolizes his years of leadership in the Communist Party, and 32 meters in height represents the age when he wrote a poem dedicated to the city of Changsha.
