Description
台藏塔遗址 is a unique archaeological monument from the Tang Dynasty, being the largest and best-preserved Buddhist temple in the Xinjiang region.
This rectangular temple shaped like a '回' sign impresses with its unique architecture with three levels, each with a Buddhist shrine. The outer walls made of yellow earth and the inner walls made of compacted clay with brick elements create a fascinating composition.
As you explore, you may come across pottery fragments, reels and coins from the Qing Dynasty, which attest to the rich history of this site, located on the route between the Chang'an Kingdom and the Mikuo Tai Tomb.
