Description
Erwang Temple is a unique temple located at the foot of Yulei Mountain in Dujiangyan. Originally built during the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), it was dedicated to Li Bing, the chief designer and engineer of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and his son.
The temple covers an area of about 50,000 square meters and consists of two parts: the eastern part with landscaped gardens and the western part with palaces and halls. The main hall houses a statue of Li Bing, while the rear part has a statue of his son.
A stone stele is engraved with Li Bing's water control formula, a testament to ancient Chinese engineering.
