赤岗塔

赤岗塔 is a historic pagoda located in the Haizhu district of Guangzhou. Built between 1619 and 1627, this impressive Ming Dynasty structure impresses with its unique architecture - a nine-tiered exterior and 17-tiered interior, reaching nearly 49 meters in height.

The pagoda is famous for its unusual carvings depicting 'Towers of Strength' at the corners, which show Westerners in Ming Dynasty garb - a fascinating example of cultural exchange between China and the West. Made of red sandstone, the structure offers stunning views of the Pearl River and the city skyline.
