Carreg Dhu Gardens

Carreg Dhu Gardens is a unique community garden located on the Isles of Scilly. Created in 1986 on the site of a former quarry, this 1.5-acre site is stunning in its subtropical vegetation and tranquility.

The garden is maintained entirely by volunteers who have transformed an abandoned quarry into a lush oasis. Of particular note is the Historic Narcissus Collection, presented in six hexagonal beds, which preserves traditional varieties grown on the islands.

It's the perfect place for nature lovers to enjoy exotic plants such as cordillera, tree ferns and agapanthus, and meet tame sparrows and thrushes.
