Burg Monschau

Burg Monschau is a medieval hilltop castle that dates back to the 13th century. This imposing fortress, expanded in the 14th century by the Counts of Jülich, impresses with its powerful defensive walls and unique architectural details.

Today the castle serves as a youth hostel and a venue for cultural events. Concerts and opera performances are held here during the summer months. The castle chapel, famous for its excellent acoustics, is a popular venue for performances by choirs and musical groups.

The castle offers a picturesque view of the medieval center of Monschau with its historic houses and winding streets.
