Bicaz Gorges

The Bicaz Gorge is one of Romania's most spectacular natural wonders. Carved by the Bicaz River, it forms an impressive canyon with limestone walls reaching up to 400 meters high.

The narrowest part, called the Gate of Hell, is only 7 meters wide! The place impresses with its variety of flora and fauna - bears, wolves and even the critically endangered Apollo butterfly can be found here.

For activity enthusiasts, there are climbing routes, including the famous Via Ferrata Astragalus, and 18 hiking trails of varying difficulty.
