Description
St. Peter's Cathedral is a masterpiece of neo-Gothic architecture in Adelaide. The impressive twin towers rising over 50 meters symbolize the gateway between the earthly and divine worlds.
The interior impresses with its vaulted ceilings, pointed arches and beautiful stained glass windows, including the magnificent 1890 Great Western Window depicting Christ in Majesty.
A unique feature is the reredos, a decorative structure behind the altar, installed in 1904, 34 feet high, with 23 colored and gilded panels and carved figures.
