Description

St James' Church is Sydney's oldest church, consecrated in 1824. Designed by the convict architect Francis Greenway, this historic building impresses with its Georgian style and 52-meter copper tower.

Unique highlights of the church include the new Organ Bicentenary (2024), the Chapel of the Holy Spirit with beautiful stained glass windows, and the colorful Children's Chapel in the crypt, decorated with gold accents.

The church regularly hosts concerts, lectures and seminars, and is an important part of Sydney's cultural landscape. The site attracts history buffs as well as those interested in art and music.
