Warriparinga/ Sturt River Wetlands Reserve

Warriparinga/ Sturt River Wetlands Reserve is a unique place of great cultural significance to the indigenous Kaurna community. This scenic reserve is the beginning of the Tjilbruke Trail and is associated with the legend of the Tjilbruke Dreaming.

The area impresses with its abundance of flora and fauna - more than 8,000 native trees and shrubs and 20 varieties of aquatic plants create a home for local birds and animals. The Vetland also serves an important ecological function, filtering water from the Sturt River.

The grounds include the Living Kaurna Cultural Center and a historic 1920s farmer's house. The wide, paved paths are perfect for walking, jogging and cycling.
