Description
St Kilda Botanical Gardens is a historic Melbourne treasure, established in 1859. This verdant corner delights with a variety of exotic plants and native species, eight of the original trees of which are registered as Significant Trees.
The garden offers many attractions: educational greenhouses with a subtropical microclimate, an ornamental pond with a Rain Man fountain, public chess boards and a children's playground. A special place is the 1950s Alister Clark Rose Garden, ideal for relaxation.
More than 800 mature specimen trees create the unique atmosphere of this place, designed by the famous William Guilfoyle.
