Description
Banks Street Reserve is a 34-hectare wildlife area in the heart of Brisbane. This forested corner is home to extraordinary biodiversity, including koalas, which form the closest colony here relative to the city center in all of Australia.
The space delights with its rich history - once covered in rainforest, it was later used as Chinese vegetable gardens until the 1974 floods.
Today it's a paradise for birders, dog walkers and families looking for a picnic spot. With three stream crossings and scenic trails along Enoggera Creek, every visit is a new adventure in an urban oasis of nature.
