Sovereign Hill

Sovereign Hill is a unique outdoor museum that takes you back in time to the Australian gold rush of the 1850s.

As you tour the more than 60 historically recreated buildings, you'll meet staff members in period costumes who are happy to answer questions and pose for photos.

You can experience a real adventure by visiting a replica of the Red Hill Mine, where the second largest gold nugget in the world was found. Antique artefacts, machinery, carriages and livestock complete this fascinating picture of life during the greatest alluvial gold rush in history.
