Description
The National Herbarium of Victoria is the oldest scientific institute in Victoria, founded in 1853 by Baron Ferdinand von Mueller. It is located in the picturesque Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne.
The Herbarium houses the largest herbarium collection in Oceania - more than 1.5 million dried specimens of plants, algae and fungi, including rare specimens collected by Charles Darwin.
This is a veritable treasure trove of botanical and historical knowledge, ideal for nature and science lovers who want to discover the fascinating world of plants from six continents, collected over five centuries.
