Jacobs Ladder

Jacobs Ladder is a historic staircase with 86 steps, connecting downtown Brisbane to the Spring Hill neighborhood. The name refers to the biblical ladder leading to heaven, symbolizing the city's connection to the historic Wickham Terrace area.

Originally an earthen path with handrails, it was converted to a concrete staircase with terraces in 1921. In the 1920s, rockeries and flowers were added, creating a scenic walking route.

Part of King Edward Park, this historically and aesthetically significant site offers a unique walking experience and beautiful views of the city.
