Description
University of Adelaide THEATRE GUILD is the oldest and most respected amateur theater society in Adelaide, founded in 1938. It is the second oldest amateur theater group in South Australia, celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2023.
The Guild is famous for staging both classic and contemporary plays in the intimate Little Theatre, located next to the UniBar. The venue has special historical significance - the first-ever staging of Patrick White's 'The Ham Funeral' took place here.
The variety of productions attracts students, alumni and theater lovers alike from all over the city, making the Guild a vital part of the local arts scene.
