Description
The Abbey is a unique historical monument in the Victorian Gothic style, built between 1881 and 1882 by John Young, a master builder and engineer. This architectural gem impresses with its romantic design modeled after a Scottish manor house, its gargoyle tower and its innovative use of reinforced concrete - a novelty at the time.
The residence is famous for its rich ornamentation, hand-painted panels, wooden architraves and Gothic vaulting. For lovers of paranormal phenomena, ghost stories haunting the property are an added attraction.
