Description
Gold Creek Reservoir is a picturesque reservoir surrounded by lush greenery, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. Built in 1882, it was once the 14th largest dam in Australia and served as the water source for Brisbane until 1991.
Today, it offers a 5.5-kilometer walking trail with an intermediate level of difficulty, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Children love to slide down the grassy slope on makeshift cardboard sleds, and history buffs will appreciate the architectural features such as the concrete outlet tower and dramatically scaled overflow steps.
