Description
Plaza de La Alameda is a charming square located in the northern part of the old town of Santa Cruz de La Palma. Surrounded by historic buildings, it delights with beautiful palm trees, a fountain and a cozy café in the center.
At the end of the square is the wooden ship 'Barco de la Virgen', a replica of Columbus' Santa Maria, which houses the Maritime Museum. A curiosity is the small statue 'Monumento a El Enano', commemorating the tradition of dancing dwarfs wearing Napoleonic hats - a local, original cultural element of the island.

Charly Brown ll.a year agoNice place in the small capital S.-C. the La Palma, which we always like to visit when we are on La Palma. Life is always pulsating here. In the middle there is a visually beautiful kiosk, as you often see here on the island. Lots of seating around the kiosk, where you can even be served. More benches available. Large trees provide shade. There is also a bust and a small series of fountains to admire. Place to feel good.👍
