Lowell Creek Waterfall

Lowell Creek Waterfall is a remarkable blend of the power of nature and human engineering—the waterfall was created in 1940 when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers diverted the stream through a 630-meter tunnel beneath Bear Mountain.

Fed by glacial waters from Mount Marathon, it creates a spectacular cascade whose force increases during autumn storms. The area surrounding the waterfall is a paradise for nature lovers—you can spot eagles and otters here.
