Description

The Eagle Aqueduct is an impressive architectural monument located near the village of Maro near Nerja. This majestic structure from the 19th century, rising to a height of 40 meters, impresses with its mudéjar style and 38 horseshoe arches arranged in four stories.

The name comes from the distinctive pennant in the shape of a two-headed eagle adorning the top of the structure. The aqueduct was built to supply water to the nearby San Joaquín sugar factory and is an excellent example of the industrial architecture of the time.

It is an ideal location for photography and history enthusiasts, offering picturesque views of the mountains and surrounding area.
