American Gardens

American Gardens is a historic garden in Opatija, built in the first half of the 20th century by Hungarian merchant Mihály Pál Kuczora. It is a true gem combining modernist and historical elements, dedicated to the merchant's wife, Hildegard von Hortenau.

The garden impresses with its terraced terrain offering spectacular views of the Kvarner Bay and a rich collection of plants, including camphor, eucalyptus, camellias, gardenias, magnolias and thousands of roses.

The place is also captivated by architectural elements - pergola, stairs and benches, as well as the preserved ruins of Šišina mirina. Ideal for lovers of nature, history and romantic walks.
