Ahu Tongariki

Ahu Tongariki is the largest and most impressive ceremonial platform on Easter Island. Fifteen majestic moai statues stand in a row, proudly looking out over the island, with the ocean behind them.

This remarkable site was restored after the 1960 tsunami destroyed the original structures. Today it stands as a symbol of Rapa Nui's mysterious culture and is one of the most photographed sites on the island.
