Description
Aalborghus Castle is a unique Renaissance fortress dating back to 1539, built by King Christian III. This half-timbered castle combines Renaissance and medieval styles to offer an extraordinary historical experience.
Unlike typical castles, Aalborghus does not have imposing towers, but impresses with its elegance and red tile roofs. Explore the underground dungeons, which once served as a prison and, according to local legends, are haunted by the 'White Lady'.
The gardens surrounding the castle are the perfect place to relax overlooking the Limfjord. In summer, when the gardens are in bloom, the place takes on a special charm.
